While in Shanghai, a co-worker turned me on to the artist 张雨生 (Chang Yu-sheng is the pinion, I think). Beautifully crafted paintings full of storytelling, patterns and movement.

Pat LaFrieda’s Big App For Meat is an iPad app developed by Pat LaFrieda and production company Zero Point Zero. They call it the “definitive butcher’s guide to every cut of meat”. Love the textures, colours and overall style.
The Hello app by Evernote. A quick and pretty way to add bare-bones contact info to your phone. They suggest handing over your phone to someone you’ve just met and getting them to fill out the profile. The app also pulls in events from your calendar.
“Japanese artist Riusuke Fukahori paints three-dimensional goldfish using a complex process of poured resin. The fish are painted meticulously, layer by layer, the sandwiched slices revealing slightly more about each creature, similar to the function of a 3D printer.” (via MAKE | Resin-Embedded 3D Goldfish Paintings)

StrongStuff is the website and portfolio of Tom Whalen, who creates gorgeous vector illustrations. He’s designed many movies posters that I wish would have been the official posters for all of these films. I plan on referencing these in the future for icon inspiration.
Pee in Peace is an iPhone app designed for Out for Health by AWP. Essentially it’s a searchable map of all the private unisex restrooms in Ithaca, New York. Their target users include caregivers for people of the opposite sex and transgender people. But it’s really open to anyone who wants a bit of privacy. Great idea. Great execution. Love the open / closed icon.
